This house was founded in 1876 as a hunting lodge for distinguished guests. It 'was, among other things, the cradle of the loving relationship between the Queen Margherita of Savoy and the Baron Luigi Peccoz (1889-1894), which lasted until his death on the glacier of Monte Rosa as he accompanied the Queen from  Gressoney via Lysjoch (4,200 mt) to Zermatt.

The lodge has been adapted as a hotel in 1997, in full respect of its charm: an original mix of rustic and refined facilities, which was much appreciated from the Queen "mountaineer". Within these walls she has gained the desire to be realized the Capanna Regina Margherita, the highest in Europe at an altitude of 4,554 meters, completed in 1893.

The most impressive room is the original dining room, now the breakfast room, where you can admire the woodwork, tapestries and original furniture.

Milestone for the summer tour of Monte Rosa is located in the center of the extraordinary "domaine skiable" Monterosa Ski.
