Old Lucera, all enclosed "inside the walls", has a vaguely pentagonal shape in the center of which stands out and dominates the massive bulk of the Roman - Gothic cathedral. This center is ideally represented by the square, or it would be better to say, from the Largo del Duomo which is also delimited by three palaces, the Lombardi palace and the episcopal palace, both of the eighteenth century and on the opposite side the Cavalli palace which, in its front part, it is of nineteenth-century origin while its rear body is probably half of the seventeenth century. The visitor who passes the majestic chestnut door enters the luminous courtyard and goes up the wide stone staircase which ends in a loggia which overlooks two elegant front doors. The right one is the entrance to the apartment that the Cavalli family has decided to use as a bed & breakfast.
