National Park
The Abruzzo National Park (now the National Park of Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise), patriarch of the Italian parks, was born September 9, 1922 under the chairmanship of the engineer and deputy Abruzzo Erminio curtains and was officially established by Royal Decree no. 257, January 11, 1923.
Today it covers about 50,000 hectares with a range of external protection that reaches 100,000 hectares of protected nature. Severity of three regions (Lazio-Abruzzo-Molise) and occupies territories of countless mountain villages.
